I’ve been inspired by his woodcuts for years. This incredible little show at Paula Cooper closes today. In person, I noticed for the first time the fingerprints, smudges, texture of the ink on the Japanese rice paper, and all of the imperfections that make these warm, human, and of another time. The book has a nice essay by his son, Flavin. A few shots of the show.
