Roman Pinball is an obsession with four circles found in Rome (broken, perfect, helicoidal, expanding). An exploration of place was documented and the process generated typographic results. Each of four hotspots tells an extraordinary story, and four ornamental letterforms (SPQR) are revealed. Mapped, the letter/places (air, time, earth and sky) are a kind of extreme guide to Rome—unreal history, hyper-tourism and deep culture connected in a high-energy pinball constellation, like something expanding with possibility.
